Ipsy June Glam Bag Review

Hi, loves!

I am so excited that I have finally jumped on the ipsy train and decided to try out their monthly glam bags, so I can review them for y’all and give you my thoughts on the products. Friendly reminder that glam bags can be different for each customer due to preferences/wants/skin complexion, etc. Still, I am hoping this can give you an idea of what products out there are worth the buy and which ones are not.

Makeup Bag

This makeup bag is simple but cute. On ipsy’s website, it describes the bag with the caption: “this loud and proud pouch is a not-so-subtle reminder to *always* speak your mind!”

Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask and Green Tea Detox Purifying Fiber Mask

I literally got the worst sunburn on my face today while I was laying out at the pool, and the Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask felt like literal heaven as soon as I put it on. It automatically cooled my face down and made it not feel as dry and painful. I am literally obsessed with this facemask and now I want to go buy a bunch of them. This product is definitely one you should look into for the summer.

The Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask and Green Tea Detox Purifying Mask are both $14.95 for a set of 3 or $44.95 for a box of 10.

Whipped Lip & Cheek Souffle: Cocoa Bean

I used this as a lipstick for this review post. I am a lover of all nude lipsticks, and this one was no exception. It is light feeling on my lips and super easy to put on. It is nude, so it does not stand out a whole lot as a lipstick, but I still love it. I would definitely buy this product.

The Whipped Lip & Cheek Souflee: Cocoa Bean is normally $6.00, but is currently on sale for $4.20.

INSTAIN Long-Wearing Staining Powder Blush in Pinstripe

This blush is a little darker than the colors that I normally go for. I tend to go for light pinks or I just do not wear blush at all. I actually think this blush turned out very pretty when I put it on, and I was happily surprised at how much I liked it. I would not buy this product during the summer, but I might during the fall.

The INSTAIN Long-Wearing Staining Powder Blush in Pinstripe is $22.00.

City Color Cosmetics

Shimmer Shadow: Cheers to Life

I tend to keep my eyes looking pretty natural and I mainly use various pinks (I know what a shocker). I did not think I was going to like this eyeshadow at all because it is very orange, very sparkly and very bright. However, I think this would be a super cute summer look. You literally can just brush it on, throw on some eyeliner and mascara and be good to go. I think if I was brave enough I would buy this product for the summer.

Shimmer Shadow: Cheers to Life is normally $4.99, but it is currently on sale for $3.99.

Skone Cosmetics

Insanely Intense Tattooed Waterproof Eyeliner: Brown

I was super excited to get a liquid eyeliner because that is literally all that I use, but I was not excited to get brown because I only ever wear black liquid eyeliner. This liquid eyeliner is super easy to use, and I actually do not mind this brown tone at all. It still looks pretty dark, and I absolutely love it paired with the shimmer shadow above.

Insanely Intense Tattooed Waterproof Eyeliner: Brown is normally $20.00, but it is currently on sale for $15.00.

PS: The only extra makeup item I am wearing in the photographs is: Sephora foundation and Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.

SOO AE Charcoal Clay Bubble Mask and Hydrogel Lip Patch Review

Hi, loves!

I am by no means a beauty expert, but I have decided to start a new section on my blog: beauty! It is just a place for me to review certain beauty products that I try out or to highlight my favorite beauty products.

The first post of my new beauty section is a review of SOO AE’s Charcoal Clay Bubble Mask and Hydrogel Lip Patch. This was my first time trying these products, so I was a little nervous, but super excited because I have heard a lot of great reviews.

Charcoal Clay Bubble Mask

I am not going to lie…I had no clue what an oxygen bubbling mask was before I tried this face mask out. I had no clue what to expect or what the heck is was going to do to my face. Nervous much? Well of course. I have super sensitive skin, so I am always a little weary of trying new skincare products because I never know how my face is going to react.

Let me tell you, it is a pretty strange feeling to put a mask on your face and then all of a sudden literally feel it start to bubble up and hear the sound of bubbling coming from your face. It felt like someone was tickling me all over my face. It was a strange feeling, but I got used to it after a couple of minutes.

I have been spending a lot of time at the pool, so my face is a little sunburnt and incredibly dry. Literally, as soon as I washed my face off and put some moisturizer on, my face felt brand new. It felt soft and smooth unlike before.

I give this face mask a 10/10. You should definitely go try it out, especially if you are like me and you are spending a lot of time out in the sun this summer. Do you want to know what the best part is? It is literally only $2.50 at good ole Walmart.

Hydrogel Lip Patch

If you are like me, then you had absolutely no idea that there was such a thing as a mask for your lips. Who would have thought?

I was not really sure what a lip mask would even look like. Would it be a cream that I would wash off? Would it be a sheet mask that I would just throw away? Well, I was definitely surprised that it was neither of those two options. Instead, I took it out of the package and pulled out a jelly feeling lip patch that let out a delicious smelling fragrance of berries.

My lips have felt super dry and chapped lately thanks to that lovely Oklahoma sun that I have been out in all summer. I feel like I have been constantly putting on my chapstick because my lips feel so dry and yucky. I have been so annoyed because I feel like no matter how much chapstick I put on, my lips are still dry and they do not feel good at all.

This hydrogel lip patch seriously changed my life. After keeping it on for about twenty minutes, my lips felt great again. They were soft and felt hydrated. This is absolutely my new favorite product. I am in love!

I give this hydrogel lip patch a 10/10. You should definitely go try it out, especially if you are like me and you are spending a lot of time out in the sun this summer. Do you want to know what the best part is? It is also only $2.50 at Walmart.

If you try out these products, I would love to hear your thoughts. Comment below!

PS: The bubble facemask freaked out my little teacup Yorkie, Prince Charming, so use with caution around dogs.

My Weekend In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Hi, y’all!

This week’s travel adventures sent me to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for a short little visit.

The main reason why I came this weekend, was to celebrate my cousin Peyton. She graduated from high school on Friday night! Peyton and I have been inseparable from the moment she was born because we basically grew up together. She ended up moving to Pennsylvania her freshman year of high school, but we are still close and we still love (and fight) like sisters. Peyton graduated from Canon-McMillan High School with honors. Her graduation was on her high school football field, and I felt nothing but pure pride as I watched her receive her diploma. I am one proud cousin!

On Saturday, my nana, cousin, aunt and I spent the day seeing the beautiful city of Pittsburgh and shopping of course (hello to tax-free shopping!).

We went to South Side to do a little bit of shopping and sightseeing. It was such a fun little area that kind of reminded me of a less raunchy version of a street in New Orleans. I loved seeing all of the graffiti art done by a local artist. There we lots of cute little boutiques and restaurants. We went to the cutest little place, Milkshake Factory, where we got yummy classic chocolate milkshakes. I am thinking that we need one of these in Oklahoma (please). Plus, we could not leave without a mini photoshoot to document our fun little trip. My poor cousin Peyton is used to me forcing her to take a million pictures with me wherever we go…oops. A mini photo shoot is something all of my family and friends have come to expect with me wherever we go now. They will thank me later (I hope).

Then my aunt drove us to Station Square, which is a cute little area. It is a great place for tourists, like myself, to get a great view of the city of Pittsburgh. I love that you can basically see everything from this one area! The tall buildings, the water, the famous yellow bridge, Heinz Stadium and more. What made this even better, was that is was an absolutely beautiful day. The sun was shining and it was the perfect temperature (unlike the beauty of dealing with the unpredictable weather of good ole Oklahoma).

I had such a great time spending time with my family, shopping and seeing the beautiful sights of Pittsburgh. Now it is time to fly back home to Oklahoma and go back to sleeping in my own bed (thank goodness).

A Mind Like A Child

I am spending the week in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania because my cousin, Peyton, graduated high school last night! I am feeling super proud and a little old because that was me two years ago. Time sure does fly by. I am happy to be here for the week though! It is a nice little break from Oklahoma and a great opportunity to spend more time with my family.

Today, I got to meet the cute little seven-year-old girl that my cousin babysits. We picked her up from her piano lesson and then went to a fun frozen yogurt place called Cowtastic.

When we were in the car, the little girl told me she had a present for me. She made me a pink, blue and white loom bracelet for me. How sweet is that?

My cousin told me afterward that the little girl had told her that is was the prettiest bracelet she had ever made and that she made it for me. My cousin asked why she would give it to me if she liked it so much and her response was simple: because I made it for her.

This little, but incredibly sweet gesture from this seven-year-old little girl got me thinking. She had just met me, but she gave me a gift that she made sweetly by hand and she was so kind to me. This little girl did not know me at all, but she was sweet as could be to me. All kids have a tendency to do that, but why does that mindset change as we get older?

Kids see everyone as people. It does not matter what color their hair is, the color of their skin, the clothes they are wearing, what they like to do, if they are male or female or anything else. Kids see people as people. They are kind until they are given a reason not to be.

Why do we stop doing that as adults? Why do we automatically judge a book by its cover? What if we just saw people for people?

“For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:26-28

We are all one in Christ Jesus, so we need to start acting like it. Children have got this concept down, so maybe we need to learn from them. Life is about more than the color of our skin or the clothes that we wear. Life is about glorifying Jesus Christ in every single thing that we say and do.

When we commit to follow the Lord, we take on a responsibility. We then let the light of Jesus shine through us at all times. If we automatically judge a person that we meet due to how they look, how is that showing the love of our savior? It is absolutely not.

Jesus loved all people when he walked this Earth. He had dinner with those we were seen as the worst of the worst. People judged him for not be judgemental of the people he surrounded himself with. If Jesus did it, why are we not doing it?

We cannot just love the people who look and act like us. We have to love all people.

I want to challenge each and every person that reads this to approach the new people that come into your life as a child would. See them as simply a person, and get ready for your life to change for the better. You cannot even imagine what you will learn and how you will be impacted if you do this.
